One of the appealing virtues of Costa Rica’s southern Pacific coastal zone is that the mountains rise up from the coast. Breezy ocean views, where the height and the open air movement offset the near-to-the equator climate with a nearly perfect climate, year ‘round.
The orientation of Mangos Altos allows for gorgeous sunset views over the ocean during some months of the year. The property also looks over a mountain valley and on to the adjacent hillside that is all jungle,replete with Costa Rican wildlife activity.
I should qualify the term “quiet”. Mangos Altos is quiet from road noise and the sounds of civilization. It is not actually “quiet” thanks to nature’s cacophony, but this must be what Simon & Garfunkel meant by “The Sounds of Silence”. Birds, monkeys, and when conditions are right, waves, all make for a constant soundtrack but it is still somehow "quiet".
Who is this property good for?
The property is sufficiently large, and the topography diverse enough that the use of the property is as varied as the land owner’s imagination. There are multiple areas to build, each one private from the other.
Self Sufficiency:
Horses and cattle have enjoyed the abundant grasses on Mangos Altos. Solar is a strong option for self generated electricity with prevalent equatorial sunrays that bath Mangos Altos. Plenty of room, and fertile soil make for excellent food production possibilities.
As its name suggests, there are already a number of fruit trees and room for many more.
Retreat
The demand for a retreat environment, where one can quiet down the internal dialogue and get into the moment is a growing need around the planet. This need gives no evidence of diminishing any time soon.
